A Room for Romeo Brass Trailer

At the very start of the trailer we are introduced to two boys. It is a medium shot of the boys sitting on a grass verge. We can tell straight away that they will be two of the many main characters in the film. It then fades to black introducing the two boys names and cuts to a long shot of the boys on the grass together. Instantly we know that these two boys have a good friendship. Throughout this scene there is up beat music played throughout. This could represent the boys friendship. But then the trailer fades to black again with it saying 'family was hard'. This could be bringing out the emotional side of the film which makes us want to connect with Romeo even more.

The trailer then moves onto a scene where Romeo gives the chips to his mum. When we are introduced to her, she is seen shouting at Romeo. This links back to the text where it said family was hard. We instantly think that Romeo may have a hard life and his mum is not a very understanding or happy person. This scene makes us feel sorry for Romeo. In this scene we see the families living room and the clothes that they are wearing. The clothes they are wearing are very basic and the living is very basic this could connote that the family does not have that much money. This could explain why Romeo's mum got so annoyed at the fact that she did not get many chips for the amount of money that she had paid for them. The upbeat music continues throughout this scene as well.

We are then introduced to Gavin's parents. They are both introduced using medium shots. Gavin throws some magazine out the window to Romeo and this is when his parents are introduced, We see a birds eye view of Romeo picking the magazines up.However we only see a quick glimpse of Gavin's parents as the film is mainly focusing on Gavin and Romeo.

We then cut to a scene where Romeo is being beaten up by 2 other boys. Gavin then calls a stranger over to come and help. This is when the next main character is introduced. The boys instantly form a bond with this stranger and start to help him with his love life as we see them go out shopping with him to find a new outfit. This is when the comedy side of the film comes out as the stranger goes to impress the girl he likes and slips over. This stranger seems like a nice person until we see him grab Gavin by the neck and get up in his face and puts the two boys up against each other. the music in the trailer turns a bit more dramatic when the boys fall out. This makes people see the serious side of the film which could tell us that it is a drama.

The trailer then fades to black and tells us the writer of the film. This is a good selling point for the film because if people have liked films he has written before they are more than likely to go and watch the film.

Towards the end of the trailer we see the boys are friends again and the stranger gets with the girl he has been wanting to.
