Wild Child Trailer Analysis

Image
Wild child is a teen comedy film, the majority of the audience for this film will be teenage girls as these films are the kind of films that they get attracted too. The film starts off in America and then gets moved to London, this is effective as it shows two different lifestyles and how she adapts to the London stereotypical life. At the beginning of the trailer, it starts off from the camera following 'Poppy' outside of her home in America, this shows that she is a wealthy young girl from the way that her room is decorated and how her house looks, although in America they stereotypically have big houses, but for a young girl you wouldn't expect her house to look the way it does. This shows the audience that there is a high chance that she will be classed as snobby and very upper class. As she walks out of her house, we see a quick shot of her car, which the wheels have been removed as she is grounded, the shot then glances back at the character and this shows there

Toy Story 3 Trailer Analysis

Image
Toy Story 3 is an animated film, the audience for this film would be more the younger generation that enjoys these types of films, however it also may attract the older audience as this is the third film that has been released of toy story and at the time the audience may of been young when the first two films came out and still want to see the third even though they are much older and you wouldn't expect them to be the type of audience to enjoy the film, Toy Story is a film that is popular to all age ranges even though it is targeted for the younger ones. At the beginning of the film it is a little bit of a throwback from when Andy was younger and playing with the toys, it is recorded from his mums point of view and this is to show the audience how long the toys have been Andy's for and how emotional it is going to be for him to have to eventually get rid of them. The recording goes through all different times that Andy has spent with Woody and the rest of the gang and a

Avatar Trailer Analysis

Image
Avatar is a science fiction and fantasy film. This is because of it is based on the moon Pandora and the main character actually changes throughout into a weird and unique creature. The target audience for this film would be people that are interested in the sci fi film industry, a lot of people may have seen the film being advertised and then got there attention caught when on social media and YouTube. At the beginning of the trailer, the first thing that we see was a man opening up his eyes, this could hint that he could be the main character or just a vital part of the film as he is the first person that we see. Straight after this the shot changes to somebody in a wheel chair and then from then on we go through many different scenes with a non diegetic narrator in the background giving out information, this is effective as it tells the audience a little bit more about what is going on and means that they wont be oblivious throughout the whole trailer. The music then starts to

50 First Dates Trailer Analysis

Image
50 First Dates is a romantic comedy. This is because it has all the features that a romantic film has but also has parts of comedy involved, which people would expect of a film that Adam Sandler stars in as he is known for his comedy films such as grown ups and bedtime stories. This film is about two main characters, Henry and Lucy. It was pretty much love at first site, until he realized something about her wasn't right.. she had short term memory lost and therefore wouldn't remember who he was so it was his mission to make her fall in love with him everyday. At the beginning of the trailer, it starts off with non diegetic sound of the narrator introducing the characters, this is really effective because it gives the audience an insight on who the characters are before even watching the film but at the same time it doesn't give too much information away to a point where it would be pointless that they wouldn't want to watch the film. The person in the backgroun

The Martian Trailer Analysis

Image
The Martian is a Sci- Fi film. The first thing that shows us it is Sci-Fi is because of the place that it is set. This film is set outer space (mars) and that is where films that are in this genre are usually set. In the first scene we see many characters that are wearing space suits and this also indicated what genre this film is, therefore it is easy to notice if you are going to enjoy this film, as if you don't like sci fi , the beginning of the film is a big indicator that it wouldn't be suitable for you. At the start of the trailer, we see very gloomy dark colors such as grey and black, this could represent many different things but one of the main things that is usually related to dark colors is negative moods and death as at this point we also see the storm that is occurring  therefore this is what people could be expecting. The camera shots are very effective in this scene as they switch from the storm and everybody screaming and worrying and then to the calm oran

Iron Man Trailer Analysis

Image
Iron man is an action film. This is seen in the first few seconds of the film as it is based outside of an city involving very fast cars/trucks and the background includes very upbeat music which would hint which type of genre the film is going to be. This is a good way of drawing in the right type of audience as if people saw the beginning of the trailer not realizing that this is going to be an action film then they can click off straight away and don't have to go through the process of watching the whole film to realize it isn't their type of genre. A few seconds after they characters get out of the car we start to see explosives, this is the biggest indicator that the whole film is going to involve explosions, crashes, fights etc. This is what people would want to be noticing as soon as they click on the trailer as that is what a action film mostly always includes therefore this shows that it is going to have the conventions of a action genre. As the trailer gets to ar

Creativity

Where did the ideas come from? Our ideas for our 2 minute opening scene came from many different places. We spent a little while going through other peoples opening scenes on YouTube and from other blog posts and then we wrote down many different ideas on a bit of paper and then in the end we all decided on one. While filming we changed little parts of it as a team and we all thought of ideas together. We used little bits from a lot of other opening scenes but then put them all together to make one. How did you work collaboratively to share ideas? We worked collaboratively by putting all of our ideas together and using the ones that we thought were best, so we all used at least 1 of our ideas, some may be more if they were good which meant in the end we would have an idea of an opening scene that included all of our ideas but in different ways and using different techniques. How did you change things? How did you use tools like Adobe Premiere Elements to achiev

IT Trailer Analysis

Image
IT is a horror movie, at the beginning of the trailer, we see a long opening shot of the area, this doesn't indicate that this is a horror or scary movie as it loos like a friendly neighborhood and therefore nobody would suspect anything suspicious.Afterwards, it cuts to loads of kids playing and doing different activities with a voice over, however a lot of scary movie trailers do not involve somebody doing a voice over and that is used more in the romantic and comedy kind of films so the audience may think this is a little abnormal. at 0:17, this is where the audience get the first realization that something has gone and that is why the neighborhood starts to get suspicious as we see a close up shot of somebody that has gone missing and this makes the audience also wonder that there is more to the story than kids just playing and having fun...as it is a horror movie trailer. From 0:39, when the little kid is running after the boat and it goes towards the drain, this music in
